Watched some of it. More serious tone, more detailed. All the coaches are

unified, have the same vision. Sounds like he & the coaches have been working very hard & long hours. Family-oriented relationships are very important to him.

Really likes 2022 class, lots of great kids & families. Class has 12 linemen (OLs and DLs). Commented couple times these 2 lines are extremely important & can win games. 13 commits are from in-state VA.

Recruiting is mostly over for 2022, except for the transfer portal, that will continue. Recruiting stayed mostly in footprint east coast.

August is deadline to have 85 scholarship players on team. He is expecting attrition & they will use the transfer portal to make up for any loss of players.

Now is Phase #1, the winter phase--working with each player individually, lots of team meetings, assessments, workouts, strength & conditioning, etc. Hired couple extra staff to help with analyzing players, science, weekly reports, etc, to maximize the best of each player. He mentioned Penn State couple of times & will bring some of that experience & success to VT.

Will continue to meet with HS coaches & recruits in VA. Will hold clinics & camps in VA & team up with high schools. Pry said the coaches, principals & employees were so happy to see them, because they haven't seen VT coaches in long time. One VA school had 15 employees who were excited, passionate Hokie fans came out to meet the coaches.

He commented VT already behind on 2023 recruiting class, recruits already committed or have Top 5 schools without VT, because VT wasn't there or didn't offer. Said that relationships start in the 9th grade. He & assistant coaches will go meet recruits & coaches, evaluate, establish relationships, offers, etc. Sounds like it's going to take time, but he is definitely emphasizing the state of VA.

Spring practice will start a little later on March 18. He wants to get the most out of winter workouts. He wants Spring Game to be like game day experience and give the fans what they want.

Reporter (Mike "Hokie Hater" Barber) tried to bait Pry by asking him if he has run into any UVA coaches at the same high schools and if he is worried about UVA doing same type recruiting at the same high schools in VA. Pry confidently replied he's not worried at all about UVA, he's going to focus on what we're doing right, establish relationships, going after recruits who want to be at Tech. He is working with Admin about NILs. Commented if recruit has NIL as their #1 most important, Tech may not be the school for them. He wants recruits who want to be at Tech.

He loves Tech and talks affectionately about the school, community & fans. He said he & the assistant coaches enjoyed the annual snow ball fight between civilians & cadets.

*PS--I missed the few minutes about new transfer Jadan Blue. His father was shot & killed while talking to Jadan on the phone. His mother is a police officer. Our hearts & prayers go out to Jadan & his family in MD.
